Hitler's idea of using Bosnian and Kosovar SS regiments was the same as using Ukranian and Byelorussian ones--basically, use a non-Aryan people (but call them "honourary Aryans" to dispel any worries) as cannon-fodder.

Also repeated by Pakistani government with biharis in 1971 (used, then abandoned--and left to the mercies of very-angry Bengalis--when Pakistan preponed its loss of a very uncivil war).
