Al Aqsa Mosque is mentioned in Quran

Reader comment on item: Israel's Predicament at 60: World's worst neighbourhood
in response to reader comment: Jerusalem isn't mentioned in the Koran -- not once!

...

Jerusalem is not mentioned in Quran, yes. Quran is not a diary; it is a guiding book. But, Al Aqsa Mosque is mentioned:
"Glorified be He Who carried His servant by night from the Inviolable Place of Worship to the Far Distant place of worship the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, that We might show him of Our tokens! Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Seer. (1) Al Israa 17:1"

Al Aqsa Mosque, which was the Distant Place of Worship for Muslims and what surrounds it is important according to Allah (and it is an important place in all Abrahamic religions), meaning the city of Jerusalem :)

And using negative words in your comment, like "foolish", does not support your argument. If you have studied history, you should know that the human civilization of Canaanites was the first known civilization in Palestine. So, it was originally not belonging to the Jews. And the Jews are not from Palestine. If they occupied it sometime in the past, it does not mean it belongs to them, Just like when Muslims reached Spain. ...

And, it seems you do not know that Islam spreaded outside of Arabia through trades. Islam reached the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Kosovo, and Albania through trades. They knew about Islam from Muslim traders, and many accepted it. Give us any evidences that Muslims went to these countries and imposed Islam on these people ;)
