If you impose a non-Muslim ruler (no matter how benevolent) over Muslims, it's imperialism; a Muslim ruler (very few in history who weren't despotic) imposed on non-Muslims is enlightenment.

You got it right, the day Nishi became a Muslim (probably at birth), his mindset was already awry and went even more so.
