To sTs

Thank you, that really helps me, knowing that the sun sets in an angry eye and not in a muddy pool/slimy spring.

M.A.S. Abdel Haleem, Cairo born. Arabic speaking, al-Azhar educated hafiz Quran, Professor of Islamic studies and Director of the Centre of Islamic Studies, at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London, and who says of his translation, "The Qur'an, A New Translation," that he intends to "go further than previous works in accuracy, clarity , flow, and currency of language." translates Surah 18:86 as follows,

"then, when he came to the setting of the sun, he found it [seemed to be] setting in a muddy spring......................................"

the bracketed term not being in the original Arabic.

Nothing about "angry eyes" here sTs, is Haleem's translation of the Arabic wrong, can't I depend on this man's knowledge of Arabic?

With kind regards and bets wishes

Lactantius Jr
