The Despair of the SoulReader comment on item: Israel's Predicament at 60: World's worst neighbourhood Submitted by C I Thomas (Singapore), May 17, 2008 at 05:59 Honestly, i don't fully grasp the the totality of the animosity between the israelis and their so called "foes". In our life-time, which on the average measures between sixty to eighty years. Can we for a moment fathom the prosperity and progress that we can bring to the world if peace reign for one complete generation. Religion and beliefs of all kinds have put a wedge between the peoples of the world, bringing suspicion, hatred, alienation and destruction to untold number of precious human beings. The sanctity of the human soul demands maximum protection from the guardians of the world, which in this case are all the living humans. There can be no mistaken notion that utopia would be borne out of a script, a speech, one man's vision or an organisaton of peace. Generations past have set the course and is full speed downhill. Can there ever be a turnaround. Possibly a little girl's dream which only stays as a dream.
