Our dear taj who has no clue what is really transliteration vs. vocalization vs. recitation or even what is al-rasm wrote:

>I would tell the Imam to write it as "Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahiim"

Pakistani Arabic and You are not even close. Are you aware that you are editing your Allah's book? So much for the unedited Qur'an

Now let me see: in the Qur'an in Surat al-Fatiha the rasm says:

Bism Allah al-rahman al-rahim

If we add the short vowels and the missing alif in al-rahman and the shaddas in al-rahman and al-rahim we now have

Bismi Allahi al-rrhamni al-rrrahim

And if it is recited we will have

Bi- smi-l la-hi-r-rah-ma-nir-rahim

Now prove me wrong. I challenge you and for simplicity one must use the rasm only as modern Arabic is written without short vowels. So the correct way to TRANSLITERATE it: and you guessed

Bism Allah al-Rahman al-Rahim

>He could also write: Bismi-llahi Ar Rahman Ar Rahim

No bogus and phony Arabic and for proper transliteration see above

Now are you aware that there is a lam in al al-ta3reef before the rahman and the rahim? You do nto have a clue do you? So why would you, and I quote what you wrote: "write" the above sentence without both lams? You do not know any Arabic do you? or did you flunk your Arabic nahw wa al-qawa3eed? So which one is it?

>Or even: Bismillahi Ar Rahman Ar Rahim

One word: Bogus

>either way, I would not recommend how you rendered it.

Really? now it is your 15 minutes of fame to prove me wrong

>Now, if you actually want to write a completely accurate transliteration sans vocalization, you would actually have to write:

>Bism Al llahi al RRahmanni al RRahiim

So in light of complete transliteration, your rendering is not complete...

But you just wrote that you Taj would not suggest the way I wrote. What changed?Let me guess you consulted with some one who really knows his Arabic. Shame on you

>Lastly, note the basmallah cited via general reference: phoney reference from wikepedia is deleted

Oh wikipedia again. But again your source if you know Arabic which you do not should be qamoos aw ma3jam 3arabi and the Chicago manual of style.

>It doesn't render the statement as you have done so either...

And like i said: you are here defending islamic imperialism and you are not even an Arab. Shame
