A number of individuals who write articles to the Pipes' website are people who have studied history. Many others are those who make up their own history.

Islam does not mean "Religion of Peace". The word Islam means "submission", and the word Qur'an means "recite". Mohammad suffered with the disease of "epilepsy" and he frequented a cave to endure this illness. In 610AD, Mohammad was in his favorite cave, when he was overcome with epilepsy, so severe that he passed out. While he was passed out, the Angel Gabriel came to him, shook him by the throat and said, "Qur'an" or in English, "recite". Gabriel had to take Mohammad by the throat 3 times before Mohammad knew what Gabriel meant. Thereafter, Mohammad met Gabriel on a number of occasions in the cave, where Gabriel revealed the Ayas of the Qur'an. Mohammad, who could neither read or write, memorized the Ayas and repeated them to his friends, who wrote them on rocks, hides and tree bark.

Seventy years after Mohammad's death, his friends published the Ayas and thus we have the "Qur'an". Your statement, that Islam existed long before the Christ or the Lord Buddha or the Prophet Mohammed is nothing more than "Taqiyya" or more simply "LIES" or more politely, fabrications or 'Fairy Tales". True History does not include Angel Gabriel teaching Mohammad, rather Mohammad received his knowledge from a Jew, by the name of "Dhu Nuwas", who happened to live in Mecca. This may explain why some Ayas refer to Biblical quotes and why there is no reference in the Qur'an to the New Testament Bible.
