Creation of Man unique

Reader comment on item: Destroying Sculptures of Muhammad
in response to reader comment: soul

Submitted by Imam Ahmed Syeed Ali Muhammed (United States), Apr 7, 2008 at 14:39

Unfortunately there aren't any verses in the Holy Qur'an that refers to other creatures possesing a soul. Man was created for the express purpose of bieng Allah's Khalifah, or vicegenerent on Earth, and is unique even amongst Angels, and Jinn. I am familiar with Hinduism, and it's belief in reincarnation, There are even some unorthodox versians of Rastafarianism that hold the same beliefs, however Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam are unique in the fact that only Man was created with a soul.

There are some verses in the qur'an, however that speak of normal everyday things testifying against us on the day of judgement. For example if we do wrong, say rob a store, and Allah asks us about this our hands will speack up to testify against us. If we were idol worshippers then those idols we be brought forth to testify against us also.

I appreciate your question, If you have any others I will try my best to answer them.

Maslam,

Imam Ahmed Syeed Ali Muhammed
