Reader comment on item: Destroying Sculptures of Muhammad
in response to reader comment: MOB MENTALITY

Submitted by B. Williame (Belgium), Apr 14, 2008 at 03:53

True that a journalist was busted for expressing such.

True that he got punished by imprisonment by law and not by a mob or beatings with a stick.

Please do not see prejudices to my views, but add to it the desire to point differences.

We can't talk properly about a problem like Islam's 'misunderstandings' with just avoiding the painful practical differences as well as the written ones.

You could say a mob has no religion. But i have to disagree. A mob is moved for a reason. if there was no reason, there woudn't be a mob in the first place.

The mobs I'm referring to are led by their belief. In this particular case, Islam faith.

Why was the holocaust protected by law?

Because it was a well esthablist fact and too many 'evildoers' where seeking to cover it up, lie about it to serve there own means. Each lie told hard enough and often enough will find people that would believe it. Same thing here. Is this therefor a limitation to freedom of speech? Probably, yes. Still the person who does it will not suffer physical damage. The form of punishment itself is also differend.

I hope you agree on this.
