There are plenty of free lands left and a lot of places uninhabited by man...

Just because we don't eat pigs or keep them in the house doesn't mean that thusly they are hunted to extinction...Most people don't eat buzzards nor keep them as pets, yet they aren't anywhere near extinction...

You asked why use dogs for hunting ...primarly they are used for game retrieval and many hunters use them still

remember, there are plenty cultures/societies that use older less modern methods in their ways of life, including hunting...
