Our dear Awliya' or is it wali the wannabe Arab wrote

>Dear Anne-Marie,
Whether "allies" or "friends" the choice of words didn't matter too much here from this line, both pretty much having the same meaning and the part-verse commonly quoted by a great majority of people who wish to use it for various reasons..The most important thing here for all readers of the Quran would be to quote the following lines of this chapter..The description of the so called Jews and christians AND even amongst born muslims who reject faith . Examples:- 5:57"take not for friends and protectors those who take your religion for a MOCKERY OR SPORT,- whether among those who received the Scripture before you, or among those who reject Faith" 5:66"There is from among them a party on the right course: but many of them follow a course that is evil."which obviously means that there is no law forbidding the friendship from ALL JEWS OR CHRISTIANS. 5:69Those who believe (in the Quran), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. ..MEANING NOT ALL JEWS AND CHRISTIANS ARE SEEN AS ENEMIES..

So far we have established that Quranic tafseer/ta'weel is no more than guessing and that Allah is in the habit of repeating himself and this is what the ulama called paralell verses but we infidels believe that Wansbrough is correct and that this phenomenon or "variant traditions" is real evidence that there are multiple authors (gasp!) for this opaque revelation called the Qur'an a book that you cannot read in Arabic right mr fake? So one author says do not befriend the Jews and Christians (and as if anyone care) but another variant tradition says that may be you can befriend those that do not make fun of Islam and then our dear Awliya' tells us that there are other ayat that tell Muslims that they can befriend Jews and Christians blah...blah....blah... which means that Allah is saying it is A but it is not A and only Allahu A3lam. So what was the way out of all this mess? It was the doctrine of al-nasikh wa al-mansukh and ayat al-sayf and ayat al-jizya and because they were revealed as part of surat al-tauba the last revealed sura then they can abrogate such pablum as Muslims can befriend only some of them so you see our dear Awliwa the fake: How can you befriend a person that Allah declared war against him or told you to kill him (al-mushrikeen in ayat al-sayf are really the Christians and the Jews) you tell us ya ayuah al-falyasoof al-kabeer

You see we infidels tell you only what kutub al-turath al-islami tell us and I'm not even the author of this poor theology

So you see your claims are bogus

>But as a good scholar I'm sure you knew all that ;))

And how come you did not know that? could it be because you did not know because you are and you must pardon me ignorant? Or could it be that you hoped that we infidles do not know? But in this case this would be a lie so which one is it?

>Peace to you.

Whatever
