Reader comment on item: Turkey: An Ally No More
in response to reader comment: scholar?

'Dawud' writes:

"how can a kafir be an 'islamic law scholar?"

The same way anybody who studies anything can become an expert in the chosen field. i.e. uses their brain and studies hard and thinks for themselves. Just like asking the question 'how can an English speaking person become an expert in Arabic (or any other) language '. Or 'how can a Chinese person become an expert on US constitutional law?'

' which muslim in his/her right mind would come to this women for a fatwa (Islamic ruling on a fiqh issue). '
as you know, as Islam is inherently sexist - no Muslim would ask this woman to do their thinking for them. They'd ask a male co-religionist who'd set himself up to be an expert on what Allah wants.

"Islamaphobe is more like it. "
Just because she doesn't have the same world-view as you - and is in some ways a threat to your belief system? Whatever.
'Islamorealist' is a better term though.

"Its great that she's teaching arabic though. I'm currently learning arabic in order to do beneficial things for the muslims"
Why don't you just work harder and pay more taxes ? That goes directly to social security - which helps Muslims in your country.

"inshallah so I'm happy to know that even the establishment is teaching arabic."
You're very easily pleased then. Good for you

" Urdu and pashtun are dividing languages and if all muslims speak arabic of the qur'an then it will be helpful for us."
As arabic is not the native language of England - Arabic is a dividing language . Probably more helpful if they all learned to speak English -seeing England is where they moved to. They should at least be able to hold conversation with the Infidels don't you think?

" Keep it up and may allah guide you to islam "
ah, the folly of youth.
