There is no justification for turkish ethno-fascism that is being indoctrinated today hand-in-hand with islam. Islam satisfies several criteria of being totalitarian fascist arab-hegemonial-racist ideology. I have written about that several times in the past. Islam is arabic nazism in the name of an arabic 7th century god-concept. Ataturk was not of turkish origin (like most others in Turkey) but regarded himself as a turk and was an example of turkish ethno-fascist. He hated islam and Mohammad but died too early to be able to wean the turks away from islam. Today the turks are under turkish ethno-fascism combined with islamic fascism. That is the biter truth. Whether others are better or not is not the justification for anyone's faults and sins. Whether a christian Iran would have been better than a shia fascist Iran or not - that is of no concern here.

The following 9 criteria (and there are more of them) help us determine the fascism-content of an ideology or religion:

1.2.3.) Treatment given to ex-members, women and non-members

4.5.6.) Control over education, media, entertainment

7.8.9.) Control over history-writing, faith, judiciary

(Treatment of women includes the sub-criteria about control over sex, sexuality, marriage, reproduction and ownership of children.)

Islam is clearly the most fascist ideology/religion today, in theory and in practice.

Turks should discuss their history honestly and not as per the needs and dictates of turkish ethno-fascism or islamic fascism or pan-turkish imperialism. Whether others do it better or worse is a later question.
