in response to reader comment: "Jews and Christians as allies"

'Awliya' writes from Australia :

"Those who believe (in the Quran), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians and the Christians,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness,- on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. ..MEANING NOT ALL JEWS AND CHRISTIANS ARE SEEN AS ENEMIES.. But as a good scholar I'm sure you knew all that ;))"

That's very nice of you, Awliya, to point such things out. However it doesn't do away with the meaning of several other tracts which are used as justification by your co-religionsist in other Muslim-majority countries to persecute Christians and Jews - up to and including violent murder.

Of course you use these 'nice' tracts to good advantage in Australia - because you know very well your community (around 2% of the population) is way behind the 8 ball. Muslims are very much a minority and looked upon with suspicion. And with things like this occurring here:

- can you blame them? Sure - they are one off incidents - but happening with increasing frequency.

You need all the friends you can get - especially considering the deeds and attitudes of your co-religionists we see on the nightly infidel news.

So telling people 'we're just like you, we're all friends ' etc etc pretty much HAS to be the pattern. I'm sure you personally might even mean it. But it is difficult - basically because less and less people believe the BS. It's astonishing you even bother trying - especially when we have cases before the Australian courts such as the current group of your co-religionists accused of initiating a campaign to bomb infrastructure and cause as much carnage as they could - to send us infidels a message from allah. Your energies would be far better placed if you could loudly and actively protest against the behaviours of those more devoted Muslims in the countries mentioned. Of course - that could put your life in danger , But as a good scholar I'm sure you knew all that ;))"

But in Muslim majority countries - such as Iraq, Iran Pakistan and Egypt' to name a few - where Islam is the state religion - you will find out and out persecution of Christians and Jews and others. Crimes that in Australia would have the perpetrators jailed for life (or sent to jails for the criminally insane.) The persecuters use other passages of the same Koran to justify their actions.

Islamic magnanimity towards non-Muslms seems pretty much to be in inverse proportion to the percentage of Muslims in a population. It exists because it has to
