How can a kafir (non-Muslim) be an "islamic law scholar " !Reader comment on item: Turkey: An Ally No More Submitted by Anne-Marie Delcambre (France), Nov 5, 2009 at 06:00 "Kâfir"(pl. Kuffâr) : irreligious, unbelieved, infidel, atheist... 1) "How can a kafir be an "islamic law scholar ? May I, a French woman, living in France, wrIte on Islamic law ? You think it's impossible. In my opinion, It is a mistake to reject analysis, ideas on the basis of religion. You protest ( unconsciously ) the concept of "scholarship" (erudition) - that one's academic degrees (doctorate) validates one's view. iSLAMOPHOBIA ? The word literally means "Undue fear of Islam" ! Very funny !!! Muslims should dispense with those terms : "kafir", "islamophobia" and instead engage in some earnest introspection. That is my fatwa (deliverance od formal legal opinion in Islamic Law) !
