nato, israel,Reader comment on item: Turkey: An Ally No More Submitted by havas (Turkey), Nov 7, 2009 at 03:39 well, turkish governments for so many years did defend israel against the arabs. tried to help israel to be an accepted ,a natural country by her arab neighbours. but after mr bush period, israel people and government became extremely right wing and left has disaappeared. todays very militant israel is not accepted by turkey. if you ask me personally, ı feel the same towards both arabs and israel people. ı respect israel people for their struggle to survive with such a small population. on the other hand ı feel extremely sad to see gazza bombed in such a cruel way because of few provocative hamas rockets. ı hate to see a boy in the beach killed.this is a criminal act. what is the job of nato today ı dont know. but as a turk ı prefer to have good relationships with west. ı dont want turkey to be in eu. not because it would be bad for turks but because we are very clearly not wanted there . ı think eu helped turkey a lot so far about human rights, democracy and peacefull relationships with the neighbours. but it is time to thak eu and end the talks.we must go our way now. ı want to see a turkey exactly like todays government doing. we must have relationship and good dialog and trade with every country on earth. and no war with nobody. and thank you for not degrading all muslim people to a brainless, dangerous creatures.
