Sara,

God said in the Quran " What ever the Messenger of God brought you, you take it (and abide with it) and what ever he forbid you, leave it"

Prophet Mohammads (pbuh) sayings and deeds are complementary to God words

For example God ordered that we should Pray 5 times a day, but He did not tell us how, Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) showed us how"

Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said the first place of worship on earth was built is Kaba'a, the second place of worship on Earth was built is Al-Aqsa Mosque and between them 40 years.

When God raised prophet Mohammad to heavens through Al-Aqsa Mosque, The unbelievers did not believe him although he was know to be the truthful, the honest among his people, the first person who immediately believed him was Abu-Bakr, his close friend. The unbelievers asked him to describe the place , so he described Jerusalem to them, then those who knew Jerusalem believed him, and those who did not visit Jerusalem said this is witchcraft.

Prophet Saying about his visit to (Bayt Al-Maqdis) is documented.

Prophet Mohammad said, "Pilgrimage is set only to three, Al-Masjed Al-haram (That is in Mecca, My Masjid (The prophet Masjid in Madina) and Al-Aqsa Mosque (In Jerusalem)"

Also Omar built a small mosque called until today as Omar mosque in the vinicity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, so that make an example to the Muslims not to pray in the churches.

The re-Building of Al-Aqsa Mosque was done by the Umawwiyeen on the ruins of Al-Aqsa mosque that is the was build by Adam thousands of years ago.

Whatever the Prophet tells us we believe in him - He said Jerusalem, he complemented the Quran.
