Democracy is no standard to judge anything.Reader comment on item: A Democratic Islam? Submitted by Waqar Akbar (Pakistan), May 16, 2008 at 01:10 Why should one take for granted that democracy is standard to judge? Democracy is itself an evil. In this system things change according to predelictions of the people. Through democracy they can make hatred of sin, a sin. In fact Divine Inspiration is the Standard, Islam is the standard, not democracy. Khilafah is the only solution to the world problem and Mr. Pipes himself admitted in a London gathering "Islamists will one day subject West to Shariah Laws".Insha ALLAH Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate. For complete regulations, see the "Guidelines for Reader Comments". Daniel Pipes replies: I am not sure what you are quoting from me, but my view is conditional - if the West does not wake up, Shari`a law is a likelihood. I am not predicting its imposition, however.
