Bill WarnerReader comment on item: A Democratic Islam? Submitted by K.Ahmed (United States), May 19, 2008 at 18:00 I very much enjoy a good political discussion. However, Bill Warner is a political hack - he understands Islam like I understand nuclear physics. It is people like Warner who make it impossible for rational discussions to take place. Is there a difference between the Medina and the Mecca portions of the Koran - there certainly is but it is not the made up delusions of Mr. Warner - it is a historical one and one widely recognized by most academics. Mr. Warner's description of Kafir and kafirized is a joke - will he move to such descriptions as mullatto, perhaps mixed blood, only sort of muslim, sort of kafir. Our academic honesty is being trashed by people such as Mr. Warner. And for those who like to quote scripture or Koran is it possible for you to have any academic integrity and perhaps discuss the real issues that affect the west and the middle east. If you don't realize by now that whether Christian or Muslim these "Holy Books" have to be viewed in historical perspective. ... There are a few people I read here that seem to actually think about the problems at hand.
