Our dear Khawla wrote

>I would like to tell you that my name in Arabic means: "gazelle". A beautiful name :)

Really? I checked the following ma3ajim wa qawamees:

1. Hans Wehr dictionary

2. Wortabet dictionary

3. Qamoos Elias al-3arabi al-jami3ii

4. Ibn Manzur Lisan al-3arab

And I could not find in any of the above sources an entry where the word khawala means gazelle (Arabic ghazalla, pl.ghuzllan). But you will find the root KhWL and the word khawal or gay effiminate but you will not find any gazelle darling and for the Arabic translation of the word gazelle see wortabet page 168A but you will not find your khawla word.

Now here is your chance to shine our dear Khawla: Could you find the word khawla for me in a real (book form that is) dictionary and provide me with the page number.

>I am, thus, proud to mention my name when commenting on this Website or on others. What is your name?

I can assure you that my name would neither be Naik or khawla/khawl

>It seems you are an Arab.

God forbid. No I'm not

> I am sure you read a Mu'jam (Arabic dictionary). You can check for Arabic dictionaries online and here is the meaning of my name (it is in Arabic).

No I want a real book and real qamoos

>Khawla is a famous Arabic name.

Really? Could you name one or two famous khawlas for me?

>The Prophet Muhammad did not order women whose name was Khawla to change it.

I'm sure if Muhammad was reading this blog he will be also questioning your name too

>If it is a slang Egyptian word, it does not mean I have to change my name ;)

Darling: Like I said: would you like to call your son: khawal and to get him to have a last name of Naik as in :Khawal Naik? He will be the laughing stock of his school
