Henrik Ræder Clausen- please take a closer look at a collection of Hadith, known as Hadith Qudsi. there are many collections, and some are found in classic collections numbering 40. One in particular was translated by Denys Johnson-Davies.

Here is one for you to consider:

"I was a hidden treasure, that reamined unknown, so I created the creation, so that I might be known".

It's a rather revealing example, often cited by some Sufis, as a reference to Creation, and to the reference of finding the signs of God in the world around us. these interpretations are not accepted by all Muslims, but it does aptly serve to illustrate how there are, in fact, divergent views within the faith, and it is hardly a monlothic absolutists mass (despite the best attempts of some fundamentalists to do just that).
