Our dear Simha who did not read his Islamic sources first are you aware that al-Razi الرازي wrote in his مفاتيح الغيب or Mafateeh al-Ghayb i: 84 that he believes that the word Allah is a loan word from السريانية read this as from Syriac and here is the reference if you can read Arabic

http://library.islamweb.net/newlibrary/display_book.php?ID=1&idfrom=1&idto=5472&bk_no=132

So this also diatribes by al-Razi? and it seems that al-Razi knew his Syriac

http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D8%A3%D8%A8%D9%88_%D8%AD%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%85_%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B1%D8%A7%D8%B2%D9%8A_(%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%81%D9%8A%D9%84%D8%B3%D9%88%D9%81)

Oh next it be Sibawayhe and Lisan al-Arab and the words Ilah al-Ilah and Allah

Do you see why you would not read kuffar sources before you read your islamic sources?
