Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued
in response to reader comment: "generalization" is what you're doing, Taj

Jen:

I don't think that a difference of requirements for people equates to a different "character" of God. For example, there are dietary requirements that God gave the Jews that He did not give to non-Jews. Does this mean that with regard the Jew and non-Jew there are 2 different Gods? Of course not.

As people we may indeed "characterize" God and do so differently, but since there is no one single way to "characterize" Him, the variance here cannot and should not imply a "different" God.

I was not implying that you interpret your view of God via your religion through conjecture. I assume that your frame of reference is whatever is utilized within such, such as the Bible. It is only when you venture outside of your reference-zone to make assertions regarding other religions, ie Islam, and thereby attempting to use your own perspective, with little to know use (if not knowledge/understanding) of the actual religion's, that I took issue with.

For example, you referenced what the "scripture of Islam reveals...", yet I have to question the reliabilty of your assertion or interpretation of such inasmuch as you seeming to frame Islam/Islamic text from a biblical/Christian viewpoint - hence my use of the term "generalization"...

Lastly, and most importantly, thank you for your wonderful courtesy and for sharing your insight with me.

Taj
