Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued

Literally the only semi-valid point in Durie's argument is the question over the name of God. And that Allah (despite what a Xtian polemist might deceive himself into believing) shares the same Alef Lam root of all of the titles for God in the Hebrew Bible should more than prove that it's hardly an honorific for the devil.

The attempt by Muslim and Xtian polemists to try to find errancy and gaps in scripture is fraught with dishonesty and ill-will and often downright absurdity. Regardless of theological nit-picking, the Abrahamic God is understood in virtually identical terms by all parties. To say one is evil and the other good is as ridiculous as the accusation against Jesus that he was casting out devils with devils.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Isaiah 45:7
