Many Say Christians & Muslims Worship The Same God --- Not So

Reader comment on item: Is Allah God? - Continued

Submitted by Athan (United States), Mar 8, 2009 at 07:47

I read a passage from a 7th grade schoolbook, "Across The Centuries". Therein it
was proclaimed that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. It seemed to
assume that if Christians and Muslims believe in One God, that the God must be
the same God worshiped under another name. Not so. Christians worship Father,
Son and Holy Ghost, Three Persons in One Divine Being. That means that
Christians worship Jesus Christ as God in the flesh. Muslims do not worship
Jesus Christ and believe it is blasphemy to do so, since they believe that Jesus
was a human prophet only. Therefore, it is best that Christians in Malaysia and
Indonesia use the term "Tuhan" for Christ and avoid the confusion that "Allah"
creates.
