If I say 'Zeus Hypsistos' - Zeus the most high - do you know what god I am speaking of? YES

If I say 'Apollo Hypsistos' - Apollo the most high - do you know what god I am speaking of? YES

If I say 'Attis Hypsistos' - Attis the most high - do you know what god I am speaking of? YES

If I say 'Theos Hypsistos' - God the most high - do you know what god I am speaking of? NOooooo

How many other NAMES of pagan gods could you put in front of Hypsistos? Too many!

Hypsistos is NOT A NAME for ANY GOD - is is a 'title' at best.

Theos is NOT A NAME for ANY GOD - it is a generic word that directs our attention towards the deity - when used out-of-context it tells us nothing - nothing at all.

When Paul was visiting Athens he came across a 'marker' to an 'unknown god' - could the inscription have read 'theos hypsistos'? Why not? Later, he tried to use that 'marker' to witness to the 'educated' Athenians - but they rejected his teaching as soon as he got to the resurrection. Hey - maybe that was when Paul tried to take advantage of the 'theos hypsistos' cult - just trying to help the 'cause'!
