Wimps and Warriors at State

Reader comment on item: Hijabs on Western Public Women

Submitted by Dave (United States), Dec 1, 2022 at 21:59

The warriors are those State Department employees who admonished the Ambassador Shea for her submissiveness. They obviously understand and sympathize with the Iranians fight against Sharia oppression.
The wimps are those like Robert Malley and Ned Price who have not stood up decisively for the Iranian protestors, probably still hoping for the JCPOA to emerge from their appeasement.
All this makes the State Department seem at odds with itself, that it lacks policy cohesion. Nevertheless, I sense that at least from an emotional point of view in State, that the tide is turning on Iran. Even the prissies in striped pants are losing patience with the Mullahs and that's heartening.
