It is really very simple. Western societies since adopting Christianity have adopted with it the moral concepts ot the Semitic World. these concepts are still with us but they are have receded with the rise of industrial societies. All concepts of morality, religion and mytology have been semitic in nature. Until we shed all of the moral code embedded in us, our argument against Islam does not make any sense. That "software" makes us ineligible to raise that question.

Pagans would have standing to challenge the Islamic dress, because nothing in their moral code would have allowed them to identify with these teachings. Indians and Bhudists could very well ask this question regarding Muslims, but Cristians and Jews? Come on, guys and girls.
