Reader comment on item: Hijabs on Western Public Women
in response to reader comment: Of Hijab and skullcaps

Sir, if you speak of the word resistance to Islam as against a force, I am afraid that you are correct in that we are anti-Islamic or in other words against the Islamic faith used by those who bring violence to our people and our friends in the name of Allah and Mohammed. I believe that you are incorrect in stating that we are a minority for there are many of us.

As for Israel, I pray to God that we will never help those who wish to destroy the country and its' people, for they carry the burden of the Word of God for us, and gave us the great gift of the rule of law, and through them the most precious gift of all Our Lord Jesus who sacrificed himself for us and saved the world. If the hajab is a religious symbol then surely you would agree that it is not necessary or in fact prudent for western political figures to don them outside of religious buildings. If they are a custom to a certain group of people but not enforced by civil or diplomatic law then it would also not be necessary for western political figures to wear them. I believe this issue is very important and a valuable topic of conversation.
