Reader comment on item: Hijabs on Western Public Women
in response to reader comment: Why wear it

Have we understood what these pictures show? For Muslims who are name sake muslims and dont follow Hijab and for Non-Muslims who dont think head scarf is a requirement of every day wear, these pictures show a threat.

It is not a question whether you look pretty in head scarf or any islamic dressing, point here is you are obeying to please them. Will they do anything for you? No nothing beyond Sharia, true Muslims believe in Al Islam, no nation, no culture dresses, everything that fits Koran and Sharia. so, when they consider wearing shorts a taboo then why these high political ladies have to please them. If Hillary wears scarf in America just for herself that is different but if she wears to please someone then it is issue.

Headscarf /hijab /abaya anything worn by muslim women is not just a woman's dressing, it is a political and religious statement that says ya I am Muslim, I have separate set of social, religious laws and I dont fit with u.

the feeling of not fitting with you and uyor culture and your nation is what is disturbing and that is why the other person who may follow some other religion other than Islam feels forced to accept them as their own.
