It's no big deal

Reader comment on item: Hijabs on Western Public Women

Submitted by Rockmelon (United States), Jun 12, 2008 at 23:41

While visiting Egypt, I had occasion to wear a headscarf but it was out of respect for the culture that I was visiting. Likewise, I wouldn't expect an African tribe woman to walk around my town bare breasted.

I might also add that after watching several Iranian movies, I thought the women oozed sexuality in spite of their burqa's and headcovering. Sometimes I think it would great if I could throw a burqa on to run to the store instead of having to comb my hair, put on makeup and change my clothes!

But then the chips are down, no thanks. I'll stick with western style dress. it's liberating!
