Julie, nice try

Reader comment on item: Hijabs on Western Public Women
in response to reader comment: Hijabs are worn for respect a sign of modesty... so no it is not like a prayer shawl

Bad news Julie, some of us Infidels have studied the Qur'an and understand why Muslim women are required to wear hijabs and burkas. They do so in obedience to Muhammad and the men.

According to the Qur'an, the value of a Muslim man is equivalent to two women, thus to illustrate their inferiority to men, they are required to wear hijabs and burkas. Muhammad said so. And please don't continue the nonsense that Mary wore a hijab or burka. This apparel became necessary when Muhammad said so, approximately in 610AD and 579 years after Jesus was crucified.

Of course many women wear scarves to protect their hair and definitely, not to submit to the superiority of men.

Submitting....
