Response to Fatou: Women's rights. Your reply does not explain WHY Muslims don't respect us despite wanting to live in the WestReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by A very concerned reader, Feb 3, 2021 at 17:20 Dear Fatou, You've been raised to feel superior. Can't you see how wrong that is? You say your culture/religion gives Muslim women plenty or benefits that we kafirs women don't have because we weren't protected by our parents. You can be wealthy and enjoy the life of privileges that you're remarking today. Good on you. But having tasted the Islamic lifestyle on my own and being a witness from the inside, I prefer my freedom and a husband who I will never have to share when I get old and lose my beauty or my capacity to bear children. I prefer a man who is not allowed to strike me by his God. I do prefer a husband who sees me as an equal, who doesn't defy my intelligence and tries to dominate me because it's his only way to prove his the head of the household. A man who has all the rights to use emotional abuse to control me. What you've been reading in here is information about Islam in regards to women's rights and the position of a woman in your religion which goes beyond the reading you're making about the sad stories. I dont pretend to change your mentality since you've been raised as a Muslim. So you're happy and content with your life which is fantastic. But I am flabbergasted today to realise how little we are respected by your fellows Muslims, yourself included, although Muslim population are eager to migrate to the West. Actually, not a surprise, because after studying hard your religion and experiencing on my own, today I have no doubt. I hope this clarifies more this issue. Thanks
