Money scamming is not the main reason

Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: Rat or not

Dear Mimi, Money scammers may be found in every religion, culture or gender. You should avoid them like plague. But, that is not the main reason for avoiding marriage into Islam. The four main reasons for avoiding marriage into Islam are:

1. Selfish rules about conversion to Islam and the mandate that the children will be raised as Muslims.

2. Societal disrespect for freedom of thought, love for violence, and lack of democracy in Islamic societies.

3. Separate and unequal treatment of women in Islam. Only yesterday, I saw a cool dude in casual short sleeved shirt with a wife bundled in a Burkha head to toe.

4. Persistent worldwide lying by Muslims to apologize for and defend Islam at all cost.

Hope this helps. Good modern people subscribe to none of these things. People -specially Muslims- are encouraged to respond and correct me if I am wrong.
