Welcome back, Jessica, but I am not convincedReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jul 12, 2022 at 16:14 Dear Dr Pipes, I am so happy to see Jessica --who shares the details of her personal life here-- back to the forum. I am glad that she had a great 2-week vacation in Morocco and her boyfriend, Muhammad, is unchanged from nine years ago. Jessica is surely lucky. Unfortunately, I am a skeptic and I remain unconvinced. I wish Jessica well but here are some important questions that come to my mind. 1. Jessica mentions about her visits to Mosques in Morocco. Did she see any churches or synagogues there? What happened to all the churches/synagogues/Christians/Jews in Morocco? 2. Did the issue of conversion to Islam due to marriage pop up? Should it matter? 3. Jessica mentions that Morocco was so poor. Why is it so poor? Does Islam get part of the credit? Should it matter to a Canadian? 4. It is not too bad if a friend offers to pay for your visits to various places but why do you feel so elated when Muhammad pays for your apartment, airfare etc. It is not right. You should also share the expenses... 5. Any concerns about the status of democracy in Morocco. When you marry into Islam, you say good bye to genuine democracy. That is so much against what the entire West stands for. Is that some of your concern. I would not ask these questions in public, if you do not display personal details in public. Good luck and best wishes for the wedding provided you think it through.
