My dear Alicia,

You have described it to the tee. I can't get into your post in depth today, but I will because you have say nothing but the honest and brutal truth about how the Pakistani community works. You know that I know it more than I'd like to, but yes, honour killing (karo kari), the servants that she happily mentions who work for miserable money, most of them women with children repudiated by their so neat society. Women who have been touched and have children are a scourge. It doesn't matter if they were raped or their husbands left them when they got tired of them. Yes. Used women... I have even heard of rapes of young cousins during the Eid parties. Cousins raping their cousins on a holy festivity. The destiny of these women is living in joint houses with your jealous sisters in law who hate you if you're the youngest, or just because you're the new woman, and their husbands look at you with lust. Living to serve your mother in law until she dies while she enjoys putting you down because you can't make the perfect roti. Confined at home. Praying from fajr to isha is how the day goes by. If you married a middle class family you will have that poor maids. How lucky! You'll see your man only at night. Probably, at late night. Their way...

Take care and thank you for posting this. Please, never leave the forum! And you, Women who are reading this, share these posts freely so the more women they reach to, the better. Do not be deceived by the Pakistani fairy tales.

I'll be around ;)
