Lou, if I were you, just continue as you have been. Anything he says to you is only for the purpose of manipulation. If you are actually divorcing him, good for you. Let him say or do whatever - it has no bearing on you as a human being. I know only too well how it feels to be treated badly by someone you cared about and were trying to help. Anything he said or did to convince you of his love was a lie. Nothing you do will ever be enough for him, so it's best to just cut your losses. I'm sorry this has happened to you, but realize it speaks to the kind of person he is. He would have only bled you dry, emotionally and financially. These men must have a secret, special school for this - the only type of education they have any interest in. Feel relieved that he will no longer be your problem, and congratulations for holding your ground.
