I went through the same thing with a friend and co-worker. She met a Moroccan man online, fell 'over the moon and back' in love via FB, etc. I tried to tell her he was not exactly what she thought him to be. Yes, he is/was employed as an English teacher, but was terrible at it. English that is. I don't know how he managed to capture her, but she went to Morocco for a month and came home engaged. She has since sponsored him to come to US, but I'm thinking it was taking a very long time. Because another friend and I sort of trapped him on fb - while he was madly in love with her - and by the 3rd message he was loving both of us, wanting to kiss us, make the wonderful love??, all the while professing his love for my friend. Bear in mind,she was what I thought was a true friend and I cared about her. She would hear nothing I had to say, actually acted like he didn't exist....he carefully wooed her away from any close friends she had here. But....I called her and told her he had contacted my other friend out of the blue, which he did, and was being all lovey. Well, you can imagine that did not go over well, she listened to him tell her it was a mistake?? and he was just being friendly, not. So the next time I saw her at work and said "hey" she looked right at me and turned and walked away! We have not spoken since, It broke my heart to lose her but then she was never really my friend at all. The moral to this long tale, is you just have to let your friend make her own mistakes. You have told her to be careful, warned her and if she is determined,then you can either lose a friend, or let her do her thing.
