I Didn't Have to ConvertReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Robin (United States), Sep 9, 2019 at 09:02 My husband claimed to be fine with my being a Christian, and said I didn't have to convert to Islam. Whenever Ramadan came around, he would ask if I was fasting, and I would laugh and tell him yes, until lunch. I also let him know that I continued to eat pork, but that the only reason I felt I should stop is because I felt bad for the pig. His sister would send me videos about how wonderful and accepting Islam was, and how fasting was so good for your body. I would tell her, thanks for the information. I remember she laughed once, when I told her I didn't expect her to know about a Christian holiday I was celebrating because it was an "infidel" holiday. I think it was Easter. Muslims SURE don't know what Easter Sunday is all about. I'm sure they were fine with my Christianity because he didn't plan to remain married to me - I was just his ticket to the U.S. There were things his sister said that made me suspect she knew his intentions, but then again, she did encourage me to end the relationship. I guess I will never know, because it's not like I would ever get the truth. :( Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
