Good for you. You made the right decision.he sounds so controlling as he already told you it will get worse after marriage and he will forbid you to work or talk to anyone. Sounds to me you will be in an abusive relationship in the years after you gotten married. Who the hell does he think he is controlling you as he say you will be his after the wedding even your own parents can't controll you.
As I always say a Leopard cannot change its spot totally narcissist behaviour.
