I have been through the same and think like you. Give it some more time. You need to forgive for yourself. But do not forget. I had never hated anyone before but I did hate this predator for filling my head with sweet lies to the point that I risked my life when I was vulnerable. Once married....I became a slave.

It has been 5 years now and I have gone through many emotional transitions. The hate went away when I began to pray for him and his family. His family was in on this. Then I had to forgive myself.

I see some on here justifying abuse as if it were the same there as it is here. This is only making excuses for their behavior. There is a difference and it is CLEARLY this FACT. In America woman have rights. Islam permits abuse with no consequences to the man. Men who have come to western countries who have daughters that grow up in America wish to be like American teens. I have seen a lot of honor killings where the father kills his daughters because that is how they were taught and it happens right here in America. You can take the Muslim from his country, but you cannot take the Islam out of him.

I sugar coat nothing. Didi needs to lose this guy and stop making light of the abuse. I feel she is being manipulated and played. Sad thing is that a baby will suffer. She needs to be no contact and hidden. Islamic ways are nothing to be toyed with. I almost lost my life due to dishonoring the family.

More studies and research needs to be done instead of acceptance and making light of abuse. There is another innocent life on the line.

But you my friend will be able to forgive in time. It is just that they go so deep into a woman's soul with their manipulation that it takes a while to detox from their deceit. Best wishes to you.
