Hi Rowan, welcome to the forum. I read your story. In my opinion I think you would better off to get the marriage annulled. Some of what's going on will never change and the reason why is because this is what he is use to. They hang out in their countries with friends, going to the cafe, etc. The women there don't say anything about anything they do. Women do not have rights. The man has the upper hand in everything. He can do as he pleases. He will be controlling and demanding. I can guarantee it won't change. He came here to study. I'm in the US too. He's use to a different type of life. He may have married you to help him get citizenship. They never admit that's what they're doing either. They would burn in hell before admitting it. That's my opinion of what I think you should. Whatever you decide I wish you all the best Rowan. Come here anytime as much as you want. Just remember take care of you!! Best regards, Sheila :-)
