Jackie, DON"T GOReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Leslie (United States), Aug 3, 2018 at 23:36 Hun, I know no matter what anyone says you are going to do what YOU want. That's how I felt too. I am no longer speaking to whom I thought was my dream guy. He wasn't honest and there were too many red flags for me to ignore anymore. He possesive already. Once you get into his country, it'll get worse. If he is threatening to kidnap you now--damn girl, RUN! You will be in a strange country and have no idea where the U.S. Embassy is if you need help. You won't have transportation and god forbid, while you are sleeping, he goes through your things and takes your passport and such. You should never have to hide your personal things from someone who truly cares for you because of what you fear may happen. I can only tell you what I experienced and what I was feeling. He was actually the one who changed my mind. I was supposed to meet him in Holland next month--imagine, Holland! He was going there for his job. Dream trip. But dream trip with a nightmare of a man. His attitude started changing and I stepped back and gave myself some space to think. He spoke sweet words, but his actions were not loving. He was too busy to talk with me when at first he was ALWAYS lusting after me and spent every single hour talking to me. My best advice is to leave the foreign guys to their own women and find someone on Match.com or Plenty of Fish. Or just give yourself time to let Mr Right find you. If I was you, I would not go to Algeria. Let him find a way to come see you. You've already seen signs and your gut is telling you things. My gut didn't tell me anything until the last 6 months (since Christmas 2017). I told him I was done. Broke my heart. But my heart will heal. It's better than going to an unknown country to meet an unknown charmer who is causing you to feel it's a scam and not safe. God gives us intuition for a reason. I'm on Facebook if you want to talk. Leslie Cain. So much cannot be said here because of judgement, but I now know that 90% of the people here know what they're talking about. You just have to open your ears and allow yourself to hear it, without denial. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
