My Husbands Family

They are not strict in Islam either. So I doubt they would ever try to convince me to convert and never once has that been brought up in the four years of our marriage. I think a lot of people who come here have a very rigid view of what it means to be a Muslim, and what Islam represents. Everyone is different and so are peoples families. Just because one family might believe one thing, does not mean another family must believe that the same as well.

Although my husbands family are Muslim, they would also be considered moderate. My husbands sister do not wear the hijab, travel the world and the children are not used to praying five times a day or other such things that the Quran speaks of.

So I have no concern that I would ever have to become a Muslim, and certainly not one that follows everything in the Quran as a way of life.
