Dear Sheila,,
You are NOT damaged and you haven't lost the ability to love.

It's --as you have correctly pointed out--just that you have withdrawn into a shell to remain safe.This is normal.When you are ready,you will through away the shell.Just give yourself time and space.

When the right man comes,you might drop the shell even without realizing that.Your soul is healing still and does not want to go through the same experience.Trust yourself and wait and watch.
