My ability to love has been taken away

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope this year brings happiness, relief, closure, and peace to all. I hope everyone is doing fine. I stayed off DP hoping to move on. I have realized recently I don't have the ability to love again. Apparently I have put up a wall to protect myself. Hopefully this will change one day but I don't see it happening any time soon. I'm damaged. It's going to take a lot of time I suppose. A lot is changing in my life for the better so I will concentrate on all that is positive.

I have thought about all of you but I thought it was best I stay off DP but here I am back, too many wounds still open and need to heal.
