Very true, I could not have said it better; although I hate to paint all men from Hurghada or Sharm with the same brush, it is one of those stereotypes that is just rooted in reality and I myself, even being married to an Egyptian man myself for 11 years, and being middle eastern myself, I would never ever become involved with a man from one of the red Sea resort towns or who works in the tourist industry, the risk is far to high and the odds much too great that he's not legit or at the very least, there won't be any common ground or good prospect for a future long lasting and genuine relationship as these men typically come from a less educated background, from smaller towns and villages in upper Egypt or elsewhere, lack a formal college education or cannot speak English well and given the poor economic situation for a great number of Egyptian men, they see tourism industry as their meal ticket. The problem is tourism numbers have been greatly reduced to catastrophic levels post revolution and after security concerns etc. And so they no longer have the vast numbers of tourists to hit up, and therefore have changed their tactics accordingly to be able to maximize there financial gain off of what little tourist traffic they see. Which means romance scamming is a real threat more then ever, that's just my advice and my Egyptian husband firmly agrees so what better source of info can you get? Lol
