Beach resorts

It's not necessarily a scam but it is most probably your typical man from a third world country taking advantage of a western tourist. I would strongly advise women to avoid men from resorts like Hurghada and Sharm - they are teeming with gigolos, mainly men from poor villages in Upper Egypt. Oftentimes these men are already married or planning to marry a local woman, and have numerous orfi marriages to tourist women. They are pretty much getting whatever they can before they go back home. Did you have an orfi marriage? Staying with an unrelated woman is illegal in Egypt.

I'm sure there are a small number of decent Egyptian men in these places, but in the end it's just too much hassle.
