Dear Dr Pipes,

your reader Elyse claims to be of Jewish and Protestant faiths and it is "her honor to combine them both.". And she has fallen lover with an Afghanistani Muslim over the Internet. How naive can a person be? First, do not fall in love with any one over the Internet. Then, if you are broad minded enough to respect and combine two faiths, do not fall in love with a Muslim. Does Elyse read newspapers? History books? Blogs? Anything? If she marries a Muslim, he will be extremely generous to allow her to keep her infidel faith but mandate that her children are raised a Muslims. And, of course, by culture and religious doctrine, he will only accept scriptures of Judaism and Christianity as false books.
And let us not even begin to discuss freedom of speech and democracy. Afghanistan is famous for violence and mayhem for the sake of one single religion.

Elyse should understand these issues before continuing on her path. God bless her.
