While none of us can tell you how to live your life, I and many others on here will advise you to tread carefully. Love does NOT happen online, and even Skyping/FaceTiming can never compare with a real life interaction. Online, you are seeing only one facet of a person, usually their best facet.

Pashtun men are indeed very good looking, and Afghans are known for being very romantic. Culturally they are like Iranians. But I've no doubt this man wants to leave Afghanistan (if that's where he's residing), as it's very oppressive and rife with corruption and abuse.

Looking at the troubled past outlined in your note you are vulnerable, like many of the women on here were when they first entered a risky relationship. This makes you easier to prey on. So please take care and look after yourself first.
